Isabella’s Music Journey……
Isabella started playing violin at age 6 after several years of requesting a violin and opportunity to play.
She commenced her music journey locally with local tutors before moving on to virtual lessons with Riverina Conservatorium of music and then weekly in person lessons, before joining the Riverina Youth Orchestra and eventually successfully auditioned for the Regional Youth Orchestra in 2022, 2023 and 2024. The Riverina Youth Orchestra has played many community events for the benefit of the wider Riverina community such as ‘Christmas with the Con’ in Wagga.
Isabella has also successfully auditioned and participated in state wide opportunities through NSW Department of Education, including Pulse Alive 2022 and 2023 as part of the show band supporting performances across the entire show. Her representation of the Riverina earned her a citation in parliament from State MP Stephanie Cook in 2023. Isabella was the most remote student who had ever participated in the show band at that time and spent her first few days trying to explain where she was from with Orange being the closest regional town that some tutors and students could comprehend!
After submitting her portfolio of works to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2023 Isabella was very unexpectedly given an unconditional early offer to the Bachelor of Music (Composition) degree which she will commence in 2025. A long held dream.
In 2024 she has been working hard in her local town of West Wyalong as she saves money for University and her music travels in 2025. She continues to play in and compose original music for a local band “Breakfast at Noon” and plays the guitar, mandolin, ukulele, piano and violin.
As a regional music student educated in local schools, pursuing learning and performance opportunities has meant a lot of travel in the family car. Her parents estimate it is …
………..28,000 km and counting
